Visiting St Ives

St Ives is a Cornish gem. A pretty harbour town built

around the fishing industry.

Around St Ives are abundant wild life and rare birds, the sea plays host

to seals and dolphins and there are many coastal path walks.  The quality of light has attracted artists from all over the globe and today the town is famous for its

art and galleries.

The Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the recently

rebuilt Bernard Leach Pottery are all located within the town.

St Ives boasts fabulous sea food, restaurants, art, shops and

superb beaches, (many with the prized european blue flag award). Adding to this Porthmeor Beach is famous for its surfing.

There is something for everyone in St Ives.  Whether you want a breath

of fresh air and sea walks or just to amble along the lovely cobbled

streets of tightly packed cottages and independent shops or pop into the  Library.  There are also many famous tropical gardens close by such as Trengwainton, Trebah and Glendurgan plus Lands End and the Lizard peninsula, not to mention the lovely town of Trewyn gardens.

The Eden project, the Minack Theatre, the Maritime Museum at

Falmouth, the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, Flambards theme park and

St Michael’s Mount are all within reach.
