St Ives is a Cornish gem. A pretty harbour town built
around the fishing industry.
Around St Ives are abundant wild life and rare birds, the sea plays host
to seals and dolphins and there are many coastal path walks. The quality of light has attracted artists from all over the globe and today the town is famous for its
The Tate Gallery, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the recently
rebuilt Bernard Leach Pottery are all located within the town.
St Ives boasts fabulous sea food, restaurants, art, shops and
superb beaches, (many with the prized european blue flag award). Adding to this Porthmeor Beach is famous for its surfing.
There is something for everyone in St Ives. Whether you want a breath
of fresh air and sea walks or just to amble along the lovely cobbled
streets of tightly packed cottages and independent shops or pop into the Library. There are also many famous tropical gardens close by such as Trengwainton, Trebah and Glendurgan plus Lands End and the Lizard peninsula, not to mention the lovely town of Trewyn gardens.
The Eden project, the Minack Theatre, the Maritime Museum at
Falmouth, the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, Flambards theme park and
St Michael’s Mount are all within reach.
